Privacy Policy
How we look after the personal and health information you trust us with.
Last updated: 13 October 2026
1. About this policy
Kindwell Australia (ABN 35 693 656 496) provides disability support services across Brisbane and Moreton Bay, Queensland. This policy explains how we handle personal information. We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and work in alignment with the NDIS Code of Conduct.
2. What we collect
We collect only the information we need to respond to you and to provide support. This may include:
- names and contact details of participants, families, carers and referrers
- dates of birth, NDIS details and plan information
- health and disability information and details about the support a person needs
- anything else you choose to tell us when you contact us
Health and disability information is sensitive information, so we only collect it with consent and when it's needed to provide or arrange support. You can ask us general questions without giving your name, but we need to know who you are to accept a referral or provide support.
3. How we collect and use it
We collect information directly from you wherever possible: through our website forms, by phone, email or in person. Referrals may come from someone else, such as a family member or Support Coordinator, who must confirm they have permission to share the information. We'll then contact the participant (or their nominee or guardian) to confirm they're happy for us to hold it.
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and referrals
- plan, deliver and coordinate support
- communicate with participants and the people they've asked us to work with
- manage payments and meet our legal, insurance and safeguarding obligations
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for marketing without your consent. Our website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses a security check to protect our forms from spam.
5. Storage and security
We store information securely using trusted cloud service providers. Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect information consistently with Australian privacy law.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we limit access to people who need it. We keep information only as long as we need it or as the law requires. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we'll notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
6. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond within 30 days. If we can't give you access for a reason the law allows, we'll explain why.
7. Questions and complaints
If you have a question or concern about how we handle your information, please contact us:
- Phone: 0450 939 502 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm)
- Email: admin@kindwellaustralia.com
We'll aim to resolve complaints within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992). For concerns about NDIS supports, you can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (1800 035 544).
We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version is always on this page. Contact us if you'd like a copy in another format.
